Financial stress has increased for middle and highest income earners while it’s improved for the poorest. Naturally, this is because of the generous government support to mitigate the recession. But most worryingly is the realisation that some of the wealthiest Australians in the top 20% can’t raise $2000 in a week for an emergency. Surely that can’t be possible?
